Before you streamed your movies from on-demand subscription services, there were DVDs and Blu-ray discs. Rewind even farther back, and you rented or bought video tapes. Remember those? This generation of dads certainly does, and that’s the theme behind the newest Punch for Father’s Day from General Cigar Co. Called Punch “Dad’s Home Movies,” the cigars are packaged in a box that looks like a pair of old VHS cassettes, sleeve and all.

“With the release of Punch Dad Bod for Father’s Day last year, we knew we were on to something,” says Punch brand manager John Hakim, who says that the new release serves three purposes. “It lets the dad in your life know how much you care, opens the door for you to rib him for being old and gives you a chance to enjoy a great Punch cigar with him while he reminisces about the good old days.”
Punch
Punch “Dad’s Home Movies” comes in one size, a box-pressed Toro that measures 6 inches by 50 ring gauge. Presented in 10-count boxes, the cigar consists of an Ecuador Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler from three regions in Nicaragua: Condega, Estelí and Ometepe. They’re made in Honduras at the HATSA factory and retail for $7.49 each.
The new, limited-edition cigars began shipping yesterday, and unlike video cassette rentals, you won’t have to return them to Blockbuster.
