Cigarmaker A.J. Fernandez is expanding his Días de Gloria brand with a new cigar that is distinguished by its cover leaf. The new line, called Días de Gloria Brazil, was on display at the PCA trade show in Las Vegas and should be shipping soon.
Translating to “days of glory,” the original Días de Gloria brand was created by Fernandez to honor the Cuban cigars of the pre-Castro era.
Aside from that dark, Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, the rest of the cigar is all-Nicaraguan, consisting of leaves grown on farms owned by Fernandez.
While the core Días de Gloria line is round, Días de Gloria Brazil is box-pressed. It comes in comes in five vitolas: Corona, measuring 6 1/2 inches by 44 ring gauge; Robusto, 5 1/2 by 54; Toro, 6 1/2 by 54; Figurado, 6 1/2 by 52; and Gordo, 6 1/2 by 60. Suggested retail prices range between $14 and $16. All sizes ship in boxes of 20.
Días de Gloria Brazil is made in Nicaragua at the A.J. Fernandez factory in Estelí.
