Dominican cigarmaker La Aurora has created a new, limited-edition cigar called Preferidos Hors d’Age 2022, which will be on display at the PCA trade show in Las Vegas taking place later this month. It is expected to start shipping to retailers in late April.
The name is a bit misleading—this is not a release that was delayed for two years. The “2022” in the brand name refers to the year they were rolled.
La Aurora
Hors d’Age 2022 consists of an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper and binder around a mix of fillers from Colombia, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. According to the company, every leaf in the blend has had at least 12 years of aging. In terms of strength, the cigar is intended to be medium to full bodied. There’s only one size in the line, a Toro measuring 5 3/4 inches by 54 ring gauge, and production will be limited to just 650 boxes, each containing 15 cigars. The cigars won’t come cheap, with price tags of $30 each, before taxes, or $450 for a box.
La Aurora Preferidos Hors d’Age 2022 is rolled at La Aurora S.A. in the Dominican Republic.
