Guy Fieri, who appeared on the cover of Cigar Aficionado magazine last year, is one of the best-known celebrity cigar lovers. He’s so into cigars that he has his own brand called Knuckle Sandwich, which is made (and co-owned) by Erik Espinosa, the owner of Espinosa Premium Cigars. For the second year in a row, Fieri and Espinosa are releasing a limited-edition version of that cigar. Called the Knuckle Sandwich 56, the new smoke was made to commemorate Guy Fieri’s 56th birthday, which was in January.
Even though it’s limited, this year’s version should be a little easier to get than last year’s, as Espinosa nearly tripled production, from 555 boxes to 1,500.

“Last year, we wanted to do something special for Guy’s birthday, so we produced this blend and made only 555 boxes as a token for Guy,” says Espinosa. “We had no idea the impact this cigar was going to have. It immediately sold out, becoming one of our most coveted unicorn cigars ever, with customers still asking for it to this day. We always want to keep our customers happy, so we decided to continue the tradition.”
This year’s celebratory smoke is a little longer and a little fatter than last year’s, measuring 6 inches long by 56 ring. (The 55 was 5 1/2 by 55.) It’s made with the same blend as the 55, a combination of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos under a Mexican wrapper leaf from the San Andrés Valley. The cigar has a suggested retail price of $16, compared to $15 for last year’s slightly smaller edition.
Knuckle Sandwich 56 began shipping last week, and is made in Ocotal, Nicaragua, at the San Lotano Factory, owned by A.J. Fernandez.
